Inter-confessional Dialogues 1977-1987.

The records were collected by William G. Rusch, director for ecumenical relations of the Division for World Mission and Ecumenism (DWME) of the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) from 1979-1987. They center on the inter-confessional discussions and relationships established by the LCA and designated dialogues. These dialogues actually began in the middle 1960s, but these records are from Rusch's tenure. Following a file titled "Guidelines for Dialogue," and three files of a bibliography of resources, the records are divided by church body and arranged alphabetically. These include one file each for the Anglican (Canada), Baptist, Methodist, and Orthodox Churches. More extensive files exist for the Episcopal, Reformed, and Roman Catholic Churches. The files include correspondence, study documents, issue papers, and meeting minutes. They also include celebratory programs, grant proposals, and critiques of decisions.
